How to book a personal color analysis in Seoul as a visitor, real 2026 prices from ₩80,000, Myeongdong vs Gangnam vs Hongdae, and the Korean to use.
Personal color analysis (퍼스널컬러 진단, peo-seu-neol-keol-leo jin-dan) is one of the most popular things visitors book in Seoul right now. A consultant holds colored fabrics up to your face, works out which shades make your skin look brightest, and tells you your "season", along with the makeup and clothing colors that suit you.
It's easy to book in English, but prices range from about ₩80,000 to over ₩250,000, and the cheaper and pricier sessions aren't the same thing. I went through the listings on November 4, 2026. Here's what I found.
What happens at a personal color analysis
Most sessions follow the same pattern:
- Draping. The consultant puts colored fabric drapes under your face, one after another, usually without makeup on.
- Your tone. You learn whether you're warm-toned (웜톤, wom-ton) or cool-toned (쿨톤, kul-ton), and usually your season: spring, summer, autumn or winter.
- Your best colors. You get a palette for clothes, hair and makeup, often a printed or digital color card to keep.
- Makeup (in some packages). Many studios add a makeup session in your best colors.
How to book
- An English booking site is the easiest way. Klook lists dozens of Seoul studios with English pages and foreign card payment, and many offer free cancellation.
- The studio's Instagram or KakaoTalk. Many studios take bookings by message.
- Naver booking, which Koreans use, but finishing a Naver booking needs real-name verification. See my Naver booking test.
Book a few days ahead. The popular studios fill up, especially on weekends.

Which one should you pick?
- Want the experience at a fair price? The Myeongdong studios start lowest and have the most bookings. Easy to fit in while you're shopping there.
- Coming with friends? A group session, like the Hongdae group consulting above, splits the experience between you.
- Want clothes and body shape advice too? The body analysis packages cost more but cover outfits, not just colors.
- Just want makeup advice? Pick a package that includes a makeup session, so you leave wearing your colors.
